Bell Road wastewater works

Last night, Wellington Water crews responded to a blockage in a wastewater pipe beneath Waiwhetū Stream near Bell Road in Hutt City.

Wastewater overflow at Martinborough wastewater treatment plant

Between 3:15 and 8:30am this morning, a valve operation failure at the Martinborough Wastewater Treatment Plant resulted in the possible overflow of partially treated wastewater from one of the storage ponds.

Lake Ferry wastewater treatment plant – discharge pipeline break

Third-party work undertaken near the Lake Ferry Wastewater Treatment Plant has damaged the discharge pipework that takes wastewater from the plant to the irrigation fields. This has resulted in discharge of partially treated wastewater into the nearby wetlands. The discharge was stopped at approximately 1pm.

Dixon St tunnel report reinforces critical importance of condition assessment data

Wellington Water has released the results of an independent review that it commissioned into the blockage of a wastewater tunnel beneath Dixon St in December 2019. The purpose of the review was to consider the causes, response and impacts of the incident, and to identify opportunities for improvement.
