Chatsworth Road water pipe renewals
On behalf of Upper Hutt City Council we are renewing the aging water pipes on Chatsworth Road between the Whitemans Road intersection and 58 Chatsworth Road. This will improve the resilience and reliability of the drinking water network.

After being called away to do emergency works, the crew is set to start work again on Chatsworth Rd on Monday, 2 September.
Trenching and pipelaying is now underway.
Works are currently on hold while the contractor E Carson & Sons is called away to do emergency work on a major wastewater leak in Days Bay, Eastbourne.
The crew will start work again on Chatsworth Road on Monday 2 September.
Hours of work are between 7am and 5pm, Monday to Friday.

Works will continue from 32 Chatsworth Road and move down the footpath toward number 38 in sections. The work crew will then move to Whitemans Road to commence laying the new pipe.
Parts of Chatsworth and Whitemans roads will be reduced to one lane as the worksite moves down the road. Traffic management personnel will be on site during working hours to manage vehicle flow past the site.

Parking within the work area may be restricted and we ask you to please not park your vehicle within the coned areas. This will help us to get the work done as quickly as possible.
Due to a history of recurring pipe failures, the aging Chatsworth Rd water main has been deemed unreliable.
To minimise water outages in the area and disruption to customers, we are now renewing the existing water pipe, improving the resilience of the network and access to safe drinking water for the local community.
During the works, part of Whitemans and Chatsworth roads will be reduced to one lane and traffic management will be in place.
Parking and property access may be limited during this time and we will ensure residents are kept updated.

It's been a busy time for the E Carson & Sons crew over the last two weeks working as part of a team to carry out urgent works repairing a major wastewater leak in Days Bay, Eastbourne.
Our priority has been to fix the leak as soon as possible to minimise environmental impacts. So thanks everyone for your patience while they carry out this critical work.
The crew aims to start back on site at Chatsworth Road renewing the water pipe from Monday 2 September.
The crew trenched and laid some pipework at the end of the number 41 Chatsworth driveway last week and are now starting laying pipework in the Number 61 driveway.
