Martinborough residents asked to conserve water

Update: Monday 9 March

Reservoir levels have now recovered to 87% and residents no longer need to conserve water.

Thanks for your patience as we quickly worked to resolve this fault!

Update: Saturday 7 March

The Ruamahanga Water Treatment Plant ran throughout the night without experiencing further issues.

Bulk water tankers were on site until 10pm yesterday refilling the reservoir, which is now at a satisfactory level.

Residents should continue to conserve water where possible.

The water treatment plant’s chlorination system is being monitored and we would like to reassure residents that the water is safe to drink.

Friday, 6 March

Following a chlorination dosing fault, the Ruamahanga Water Treatment Plant is back in operation and bulk water tankers are refilling the reservoir.

The tankers will be stood down at 10pm (6 March), when the water level of the reservoir will be sufficient to cover tomorrow morning’s peak demand.

The water treatment plant’s chlorination system is being monitored and we will provide another update tomorrow morning (Sunday).

Residents should continue to conserve water where possible, and we would like to reassure you that the water remains safe to drink.

Thank you for your patience while we work to resolve this issue.
